If you're a fan of anime or manga, or if you would like to know more, drop by and check out Animanga! We'll watch a few episodes of an anime series, recommend and discuss a few similar manga series, and enjoy snacks! This month we'll watch The Disastrous Life of Saiki K (Rated TV-14):

Saiki Kusuo is a typical 16-year-old high school student… except he has psychic powers. He can use them to get whatever he wants, but he also knows everything that people are thinking. Everything. No surprises, no secrets, no normal human experiences. He’s kept his powers in check since childhood, but with the temptations of high school now on his mind, he’s bending the rules—and spoons.

This is a fun way to earn volunteer hours for school. This month we're going to focus on coordinating a service project with local organizations for the holidays!

Join our book club just for tweens. We'll chat about this month's book and enjoy a snack break! This month's books are Ghost and Patina by Jason Reynolds. Read one or both of these two books in the Track series.

Ghost. Lu. Patina. Sunny. Four kids from wildly different backgrounds with personalities that are explosive when they clash. But they are also four kids chosen for an elite middle school track team -- a team that could qualify them for the Junior Olympics if they can get their acts together. They all have a lot to lose, but they also have a lot to prove, not only to each other, but to themselves.

This club's book selections are intended for kids in grades 5-8.

Teachers from Pop Up Art School will lead you step-by-step to create a star-filled night sky with silhouettes of a hillside and trees. It’s amazing what you can create with four colors and some easy brush techniques! Remember to bring an apron or wear clothes that can get a little messy!

Join us for a screening of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 as we kick off our new Page to Screen Movie Club, meeting once a month here at MPL.

Make a Harry Potter themed craft while you have some pizza and chat about how this story moved from page to screen.  Copies of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will be available at the Circulation Desk.

This film is rated PG-13 and might not be appropriate for every teen.  Please read this review for more information on the content.
