Born in Bologna, Italy, in 1874,Guglielmo Marconi was a Nobel Prize-winning physicist and inventor credited with the groundbreaking work necessary for all future radio technology. Through his experiments in wireless telegraphy, Marconi developed the first effective system of radio communication. Marconi was a businessman as well as an inventor. He utilized his knowledge of business to make wireless technology a commercial success in New Jersey. Local historian Michael Hyduk will talk about Marconi and his impact. Please register.

He practices internal medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, is on faculty at Harvard Medical School, and is the author of The Conversation: A Revolutionary Plan for End-of-Life Care. Dr. Volandes will talk about his book and how people can empower themselves to get the right medical care at the right time and on their terms. Light refreshments will be served.

This workshop provides basic training in the use of QuickBooks accounting software in the cloud. Through a lecture and demonstration format, you’ll get an overview of how to effectively use QuickBooks from the perspective of a small business owner. We will approach the subject as a sales process, including how to track customers, sales, income, expenses, deposits, and payments.

This is an interactive session, and participants are encouraged to bring a fully charged laptop with QuickBooks Online downloaded via a free 30-day trial from www.intuit.com to get hands-on experience during class. No two masterpieces will look the same and children may work at their own pace (projects make take 10 – 30 minutes depending on the child).

Let your child’s imagination soar (and most importantly, have fun!)
