misc_none 7:00 PM  -  8:30 PM More Easy Walks in Massachusetts with Marjorie Turner Hollman     Tell a Friend
    Contact: Margaret Perkins   508-533-3217   mperkins@minlib.net

Come join author Marjorie Turner Hollman as she shares pictures from on the trail at the Medway Public Library at 7:00 pm.

Summer is here and everyone is ready to get outside and enjoy the sunshine. But where to go? “More Easy Walks: Ashland, Dover, Easton, Foxboro, Framingham, Holliston, Hopkinton, Mansfield, Medfield, Natick, Norfolk, Sharon, Sherborn, Walpole, Westborough,” is the just released companion book to “Easy Walks in Massachusetts: Bellingham, Blackstone, Franklin, Hopedale, Medway, Milford, Millis, Uxbridge, Wrentham and Woonsocket, RI.” The two books point you to 65 very local trails in 25 surrounding communities. Several trails highlighted are right here in Medfield. Written by freelance writer and Bellingham resident Marjorie Turner Hollman, it’s all about finding places nearby to spend time in the outdoors.

Each chapter offers directions to a trailhead, notes distance and trail conditions, suggests points of interest and indicates where dogs (and their owners) are welcome. There are trails along the Charles, Blackstone, Neponset and Sudbury Rivers, short climbs to nice views, walks alongside rushing streams, or around quiet ponds. Several railtrails, completed or in process are included. These are all great locations, close by, to head to when you want to get outside either for some solitude, or with your family.

It’s all here, right in our backyard. Summer is short; it’s time to get out and explore.

Registration preferred but walk-ins welcome.

Introducing Jan Lewis: Professional Memoir Ghostwriter

Jan Lewis is a resident of Upton, Massachusetts and grew up in the western part of the state. She was raised in a family where the elder members often related stories about their own personal life memories as well as remembered tales of the family's ancestors.  Being the only grandchild who evidenced a strong love of ancestral memories, she learned early in life about her own heritage....and, to this day, she continues to learn more.

Enjoying hearing people share their life stories, with all kinds of experiences, successes, failures, great times as well as not-so-great times, is a major interest in her life.  She interviews a client (the “Narrator” or “Author”) in the comfort of their own home or in a quiet, private area of a local library. Jan gives them unlimited email and phone access should they have input, questions, etc., for her. She usually meets once or twice a week with a client...recording what they relate to her as well as taking notes. This process can take up to a month after which her work compiling the book begins.

As a Memoir Ghostwriter, Jan Lewis takes on the responsibility of writing a person's memoir when either they don't have the time to devote to it or they don't understand the process of how to compile their memories into a book.

A client has the choice of self-publishing their manuscript, after it is completed, and then marketing it for the public to enjoy or may keep it a private book for present and future generations of his or her family.   If they choose to have their book  enter the public market, Jan is then available to serve as their Publicist and schedule them to make appearances/presentations with book signings, interviews by the press, and participating in fairs festivals and other events.

As a Ghostwriter, Jan is the “invisible” compiler of the book, and usually just the client's (Narrator's) name appears as the Author of the book.

Besides being a Ghostwriter, Jan is also the Host of “Be My Guest!”, a television interview program, aired locally, internationally online and on Youtube. She is known for her excellent communication skills, very focused listening, sense of fun and easy-going sense of humor.  “Be My Guest!” can be accessed at: uptonma.gov

C.E.Zaniboni, author of Iced at Midnight - A Cy Walleski Mystery, will be at the Library for an author talk and book signing!

"I was raised and have lived in Mansfield for most of my life. Having worked at many jobs throughout my life, I took it all in and stored it away in my memory for possible fodder for my books. The most interesting jobs I held were as waitress/bartender and actress/singer. People are very interesting to me and I love meeting them from all walks of life. My writing journey began as a very young child when I wrote my first book at the tender age of ten. From there it has been a wonderful roller coaster ride to where I am now - a published author!

Iced at Midnight - A Cy Walleski Mystery Book 1 - was published April 1, 2015. Gammil's Point, Maine, is the setting for Iced and when Cy Walleski, private investigator, discovers a body with the carrot nose from a nearby snowman in the dead man's ear, he begins a quest to find out who the dead man is and why he was killed in such a bizzare way. When he discovers something from his past that shakes him to his very core, he wonders if it will change his life forever. Can he unravel the mystery? And will he live to talk about it?"
