Wednesdays workshop with information on a particular Internet topic, then opens it up for discussion and practice on other Web topics and problems. Registration limited to 6. Morton Grove residents have priority.
Home/Property Information. Learn how to find the name of a property's owner and neighbors, real estate transaction history, tax assessment, nearby homes for sale or in foreclosure, and more.
Prerequisite: Must be experienced and comfortable with using the Internet.

Returning to the Moon

Think we know everything about the Moon? Think again! Scientists actually know more about Mars than our closest neighbor in space – but that is changing - NOW! In June 2009, NASA launched the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, a spacecraft designed to study the Moon in greater detail than ever before. Michelle Nichols from Chicago’s Adler Planetarium will talk about the exploration of the Moon, present the latest information and images from the LRO mission, and highlight the recent amazing discovery of water ice at the Moon’s south pole.

Getting Started on the Web

Designed for beginners, this hands-on workshop will introduce the basics of navigating the Internet. Attendees will get a brief description of the Internet, learn about web browsers, web sites, and search engines. They will learn how to input web addresses (URLs) and how to move around web pages.
Registration is limited to 6. Morton Grove residents have priority. Prerequisite: Beginning Mouse workshop, or experience in using a keyboard and mouse is required.

E-mail is an important form of communication with prospective employers. This hands-on workshop will cover etiquette for professional emails and show how to send an attachment, such as a resume.

Prerequisite: Must have a Gmail account and experience using the basic functions of a Web-based e-mail account - opening, replying to, composing, and sending messages.
