Nothing says comfort in the winter than a warm scarf and hat. We are looking for knitters and crocheters who are willing to make scarves and/or hats for charity. Plan to join us with your needles/hooks and enthusiasm. Completed items made will be donated to the Niles and Maine Township Food Pantries.

Can’t make it on Saturday, but want to participate? Email us at info@mgpl.org, and we’ll get back to you with the details. 

Not a knitter or crocheter, but want to help? We are looking for donations of any color of worsted weight acrylic yarn to be used for this project. Email us at info@mgpl.org, and we’ll get back to you with yarn requirements.

Adapted by Jeff Christian, 50-Minute Hamlet presents Shakespeare’s most enduring tragedy. Utilizing just two actors, 50-Minute Hamlet contains many of The Bard's most famous lines and speeches while retaining much of his saga's pathos, poetry and passion.

The Shakespeare Project of Chicago has presented this adaptaion of Hamlet to numerous Chicago audiences since its premier in 2002. It has won the acclaim of adults, students and teachers alike each time it has been presented.

At work, she secretly observes the sushi chefs and eventually teaches herself to make a multitude of sushi. But gender and ethnicity turn into an obstacle to her dreams of becoming a sushi chef. 

Following the film there will be a discussion with a representative from the International Latino Cultural Center.

Illinois adults age 50 and over can showcase a lifetime of knowledge and demonstrate their spelling skills through three levels of spelling competition: local, regional, and the State Finals. The local competition will be held on Wednesday, Wednesday, March 16, at 10 am, at the Library.  The winner and runner up of the Local Bee will go on to compete at the Regional Speling Bee; date and location to be announced in April.

In order to get ready for the local competition, a drop-in practice session will be held at MGPL.

Culver's of Morton Grove is co-sponsoring the local bee and will donate prizes for winning spellers.
