Come speak (via Skype) with author Deb Caletti and hear about her new book for adults, What's Become of Her, and about her life as an author.  She'll also answer questions from the audience.

The Skype call with Caletti will run from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.  Then everyone is invited to stay until 8:00 p.m.to join Ellie and Her Bookies for a discussion of Caletti's book, He's Gone.

This month’s selection is "He's Gone" by Deb Caletti. "On Sunday morning after a wild party, Dani wakes up alone and hopes her husband has gone to get coffee and muffins. A little later, she thinks maybe he is angry about a tiff the night before and decided to spend Sunday at work. It isn’t until dark is falling and she finds his car in the parking lot near their home that she begins to worry. What follows are agonizing days of searching and hoping. Did something awful happen, or is his disappearance voluntary? Neither answer is comforting, and Dani proceeds to rethink every moment of their marriage, from their first meeting to the party right before his disappearance. -- Booklist

This month’s selection is "An Officer and a Spy" by Robert Harris. "A whistle-blower, a witch hunt, a cover-up, secret tribunals, out-of-control intelligence agencies, and government corruption. Welcome to 1890s Paris.  Alfred Dreyfus has been convicted of treason, sentenced to life imprisonment on a far-off island, and publicly stripped of his rank. Among the witnesses to his humiliation is Georges Picquart, an ambitious military officer who believes in Dreyfus's guilt as staunchly as any member of the public. But when he is promoted to head of the French counter-espionage agency, Picquart finds evidence that a spy still remains at large in the military—indicating that Dreyfus is innocent." -Amazon. New members always welcome!

This presentation will focus on the basics of planning for and owning a tiny house on wheels, both its challenges and advantages.  It will offer insights from the currently popular tiny house-themed TV shows. From approximately "how much" to "where to live," it will address options for general house design, as well as heat, hot water, electricity and other components. Living in a tiny house year-round is a topic of rapidly developing debate. Learn why something so "cute" and compact could cause so much discussion.

This month’s selection is "Beastly Things: A Commissario Guido Brunetti Mystery" by Donna Leon. "It’s no wonder that Donna Leon’s latest mystery debuted on the New York Times bestseller list at number ten. The series’s tantalizing crimes, Venetian setting, and much-loved commissario are a winning combination that continues to earn critical acclaim and a growing readership around the globe.  In Beastly Things, Leon lives up to her reputation as a writer unafraid to address the corruption underlying La Serenissima’s outward beauty. When an unidentified murder victim winds up in a canal, Brunetti travels beyond his usual sphere to find the connection between the dead man and a local slaughterhouse." -Amazon. New members always welcome!
