-The large meeting room is requested for 9 AM to 1 PM on Saturday, 5/30/15 to conduct the annual Middleborough Democratic Town Caucus which will be held immediately following a regular meeting of the Democratic Town Committee. Expected attendance is 30 people. No refreshments are to be served. This meeting is open to the public; however, only registered Democrats in the Town of Middleborough as of January 31, 2015 will be eligible to vote and otherwise actually participate in the Caucus itself. Thank you for your assistance in this matter.

Best for 0-18 months and their caregiver.  This is primarily a lap sit program.  Mother Goose on the Loose is a rhyme-filled program promoting early literacy in children birth through 18 months.  Children participate with accompanying grown-ups learning rhymes, songs, and hearing stories.  The program is followed by playtime allowing children and adults to interact with each other and toys are provided by the library.

This program is free and no advanced sign-up is required.  The formal program begins promptly at 10:15am and concludes in 20 minutes.  After that families are invited to stay in the room and play until 11am.

Stephen Kurkjian will talk about his new book on the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, Master Thieves: The Boston Gangsters Who Pulled Off the World's Greatest Art Heist.

Kurkjian, a 40-year veteran of the Boston Globe, is the paper’s former Washington bureau chief and a founding member of its investigative Spotlight Team. He has won more than 25 national and regional awards, including three Pulitzer Prizes.

During his career, Kurkjian specialized in writing about political and government corruption, as well as, in his later years, art theft. He has also written and spoken extensively about the Armenian Genocide.
