Google still has a calculator, currency converter, finance information, flight tracker, and many specialized search options but many new features have been added.  Google Play is the new iTunes competitor where you can get books, magazines, music, movies, TV shows, and Android apps.   Google + lets you use circles, hangouts, and more to share the right things with just the right people. Google Docs and Spreadsheets is a free web based word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation program which makes sharing and collaboration easy.  Set up a free blog and web site, edit photos, search the full text of books and get books for your eReaders.  All of this is available in Google.

This is the first of three pilot programs held around the state.  This one will be held during the MLTA/MFOL Joint Annual Conference.

MLS and MBLC, partnering with MLA, MLTA, MFOL, MSLA, WMLA & CCILA, knows how important statewide advocacy is to our libraries.  Through formal and informal presentations, you will learn the tools, skills and the stories that create an easy 3-level approach to building local support for your library.  Nancy Rea will provide the formal tools and guide you through practical exercises to develop your message and advocacy plan.  Next John Ramsay and Eric Poulin will provide the real-life successes and challenges they have faced while building advocacy in their local communities.  We also want to hear your stories!

You too, can "Take Action" and bring a buddy!  Two are always better than one!  This program is appropriate for library administration & staff, trustees & other governing boards, Friends groups, and local community members.

Future dates:
Thursday, November 1 from 3-5PM at the Osterville Village Library, Osterville, MA
Thursday, November 15 from 6-8PM at the Bushnell-Sage Library, Sheffield, MA
