Classical composer and pianist Alfred Watson presents a lecture and recital featuring music from Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite. Learn the true story behind the Nutcracker and what was in the mind of the composer. Watson will perform selections from the music and tell stories of each scene. He will provide interesting commentary about how the ballet was created along with insights about its composer Tchaikovsky. Watson's performance has been generously co-sponsored by the Friends of the Merrimack Public Library.

Alfred Watson is a graduate of the Juilliard School of Music in New York and has performed on many radio stations and in recitals in the US. He has also performed in Warsaw and was given the rare honor of performing in the home of Frederick Chopin in Zelazowa Wola, Poland. This is his fourth visit to the Merrimack Library.

This program is free and open adults and children age 8 and older. Seating is limited so registration is strongly recommended.
