  • How to set up a Google small business website and why it's smart business to do so
  • Who owns and operates your small business Google website and why it's important to know
  • How to be an effective administrator of your Google small business website and make it secure

This workshop is designed to be interactive and hands on.  Bring your laptops so the presenter can work with you on your actual small business website to assist you in maximizing its potential.

Presented by Jim Mahlmann.  James Mahlmann owns and operates NetCetra LLC, which specializes in Web Design, Programming, Internet Marketing, Social Media, Email Servers, Web Hosting, Collocation Center for Businesses, Virtual Private Servers and Cloud Applications (Windows and Linux), Spam Filters and Online Backup.  James also served as Founding member of the organization in association with NJBIA (New Jersey Business and Industry), a business lobbying group.  The mission is to have businesses of all sizes and types bring interns into their environment to help students upon graduation.

One of the most important, yet frequently overlooked components for most business owners is recordkeeping.  This is an interactive workshop created with the needs of businesses who manage their own financial records in mind.  This informative workshop, designed for registrants to follow along on their laptop or with pen and paper, walks participants through the ground level stages of bookkeeping.  During the workshop, we'll focus on the following areas:

  • The effective use of an accounting system
  • How to set up your company in QuickBooks®
  • Adding customers, vendors and employees to your records
  • How to produce accurate and timely reports to analyze your company's performance

In this workshop, participants will learn all about SEO (Search Engine Optimization), the key to customers finding your website.  Find out how it works and how you can move your small business site from page 25 up to page 1 when a customer does a Google search.  

You'll also learn about Google Analytics, which measures what customers are doing when the click on your site.  How long do they stay? Do they tell their friends? How often do they come back? What products are they looking at?  Learn how to increase customer interest.

AARP Foundation Tax-Aide, an AARP Foundation program, helps low-to moderate-income taxpayers by assisting with tax services and ensuring they receive applicable tax credits and deductions. This service is available free to taxpayers, with special attention to those 60 and older.

Through a cadre of trained volunteers, AARP Tax-Aide offers face-to-face tax information only. There is no pre-registration. A limited number of returns will be filed, depending on the number of volunteers available to complete returns within listed times, on days that the Library Branch is open. 

AARP/Tax Aide Volunteers will be in Eastern Branch Library, Shrewsbury  on select days and times (when the Library is open), beginning Monday, February 4 through Saturday, April 13, 2019. 

Mondays: 9:15 am to 8:00 pm    Wednesdays: 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm

Thursdays: 9:15 am to 4:00 pm   Fridays: 9:15 am to 12:00 noon   Saturdays: 9:15 am to 4:00 pm

AARP Tax-Aide Volunteers offer face-to-face tax information only. There is no pre-registration. A limited number of returns will be filed, depending on the number of volunteers available to complete returns within listed times, on days that the Library Branch is open. 

Tax Aide Volunteers will visit  Library-Headquarters beginning Thursday, February 21, 2019.  The last day is Thursday, April 15, 2019.

 On Mondays: 9am to 3pm          On Tuesdays: 6pm to 7pm       On Thursdays: 9am to 3pm            Please bring Identification, tax forms & supporting records.
