Learn how to make healthy choices to be well for life!  By making the right choices every day, we can lead healthier and happier lives, and prevent and manage chronic diseases such as hypertension, heart disease and diabetes.

Participants will learn how to make healthy and delicious food choices by cutting back on sugar, salt and unhealthy fats and replacing them with tasty alternatives.  The workshop will include a popup grocery store tour and a food tasting.  Come to this workshop and you will walk away with a wealth of healthy information to be well for life!

A $5 materials fee will be due to the facilitator at the beginning of the session.

Marcia Jones will present this workshop. Marcia is a certified nutrition educator with eighteen years of experience in nutrition education, and a passion for sharing the benefits of healthy lifestyle choices.

Explore your passion for all things fiber!  Our Knitting and Fiber Crafts Club is for knitters and all fiber-craft makers, from beginner to expert. We'll be exploring all aspects of fiber crafts, including spinning, dyeing, weaving, knitting, crochet, felting, and more!  We will meet monthly at the Montgomery County-Norristown Public Library on the first Saturday of each month between 11 AM - 1 PM. Bring a project to work on, and share your accomplishments! (Note that this is not a formal class, and you'll need to bring your own supplies and tools, but members will be happy to share our collective wisdom regarding your project.)

Staff from the VNA (Visiting Nurses Association) will help eligible Montgomery County residents fill out Pennsylvania Property Tax/Rent Rebate forms.  Blank forms are available in the library.     
 
“The rebate program benefits eligible Pennsylvanians age 65 and older; widows and widowers age 50 and older; and people with disabilities age 18 and older. The income limit is $35,000 a year for homeowners and $15,000 annually for renters, and half of Social Security income is excluded.  Spouses, personal representatives or estates may also file rebate claims on behalf of claimants who lived at least one day in 2016 and meet all other eligibility criteria. The maximum standard rebate is $650, but supplemental rebates for qualifying homeowners can boost rebates to $975.” —Pa Dept. of Revenue Guidelines

Friends of Norristown Library invite you to come to the library for an afternoon of music, dance, refreshments and more. Featured will be the a cappella singing of Colonial Revelers at 1 pm, the Norristown Middle School Jazz Band at 1:30, and Grupa de Danza Nuevo Mexico Dancers at 2:15. You can take a Hidden Library Tour (see parts of the library not open to the public), or possibly win a door prize! The event is FREE and open to all. Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult.
