Marilyn Cocchiola Holt, MLS, Head of the Pennsylvania Department of the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh and President of the Western Pennsylvania Genealogical Society, will provide an introduction to the process involved in searching for family roots –- how to find the who, when and where of your family! Beginning with information gathering from family tradition and oral history interviews, she reviews the methodology of recording, organizing and storing your family history. Information sources discussed will include census schedules, vital records and courthouse resources, church and cemetery records, and immigration and naturalization resources.
Ms. Holt has worked with genealogical patrons for 23 years, presented numerous programs on local and family history topics, and taught courses on genealogy since 1988. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Genealogical Society of Pennsylvania.
Program is free, but registration is required.

Join us for a six week presentation on the religions of the world.
Religion instructor, Stephen Joseph, will be here for 6 consecutive Sundays as we examine five faiths: Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. By discussing the history and beliefs of each tradition we will work
toward an understanding of how believers see their own faith and how each faith answers life’s biggest questions. This program is free, but registration is required. Please call the library to register or register online at www.moonlibrary.org.
