In conjunction with the Narragansett Historical Society, the Maury Loontjens Memorial Library presents local author, Richard Parker who will discuss his book, The Improbable Return of Coco Chanel:  In 1953 Parker, an army veteran who spoke little French, became the assistant to Coco Chanel when she came out of retirement in Switzerland  to help launch the Chanel perfume showroom in New York.  Preregistration preferred.

 is a general-interest set of programs that will explore the ways photography has been changed by the  digital age.While some aspects of photography, such as composition and exposure will always stay the same, how we take, store, share, and “develop” are totally new.The set will begin with a quick introduction to the program, and the topic of composition will be discussed.  Every meeting will end in a question and answer period, where your particular camera and photo questions will be aired. The second program will deal with improving your pictures after you have taken them (June 12).  This is called “post-processing”.Class 3 will discuss how you store, share, and print your pictures (June 26).Finally, class 4 will demonstrate Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop (July 10). Please register separately for each session.
