    A program designed for babies and toddlers up to age two with their grown-ups. Early literacy skills will be promoted through rhymes, songs, and stories read aloud. This special time will also introduce the baby's caregivers to the range of books and materials available at the library for you to share with your little one at home. Big Brothers and Big Sisters can "Help Out".

    Edziu Polonka and local author Lynda Healey join us to talk about A Leap to Freedom,which chronicles Mr. Polonka's harrowing journey from Communist Poland to the United States in January, 1989.

    It's Science Time uses children's picture books to encourage children to explore the world of science and math around them. Parent and child "lab partners" are actively involved in reading a children's picture book together. Then our "lab partners" participate in fun hands on science and math activities that were introduced in the story.

    Stop by the Nevins library to participate in a variety of reading and play activities that help support your child’s learning and language development. We will present the activities in this program using two different sized groups; everyone as one large group and in small self-paced parent/child pairs. Please register for this event.

Each child in attendance will get a free book from our community partner, the Greater Lawrence Community Action Council.
