A fictitious love story loosely inspired by the lives of Danish artists Lili Elbe and Gerda Wegener. Lili and Gerda's marriage and work evolve as they navigate Lili's groundbreaking journey as a transgender pioneer.

Come to our June film series and learn where the boundary between physics and creative license rests in a few recent Hollywood hits - films that captured the popular imagination about space, time, and our place in the cosmos.

Today's film is Gravity (2013), about a medical engineer and an astronaut who work together to survive after an accident leaves them adrift in space.

The third and final film in our astronomy film series runs this afternoon.  Based on Andy Weir's best-selling novel and starring Matt Damon, The Martian (2015) tells the story of an astronaut stranded on Mars. With only meager supplies, he must draw upon his ingenuity, wit, and spirit to subsist and find a way to signal to Earth that he is alive.
