    Contact: Adult Reference Desk   412-366-8100 X113   npladultserv@einetwork.net
Join us for a fascinating evening with John L. Haigh, Former Chief Steward on Air Force One. In September 1979, John Haigh was selected as a permanent member of the Air Force One flight crew and served on flights with heads of states from Great Britain, China, Germany, and Turkey and accompanied the Apollo 17 astronauts as they took a 33-day goodwill tour around the world. He later served as Chief Steward during the latter part of President Reagan’s second term of office and three and a half years of President George Bush, Sr.’s first term. In Mr. Haigh’s own words, “it truly was a privilege and pleasure to serve the Presidents aboard Air Force One.” With photographs and intriguing stories, Mr. Haigh will describe those flights, both historic and dangerous, as he became well acquainted with the men who served in the highest office of our country. His book, Air Force One: An Honor, Privilege, And Pleasure To Serve will be available for those who wish to purchase a copy. Registration is required for this adult program. You may register online, in person at the adult reference desk or by calling 412-366-8100, extension 113.
