Northland’s Foreign FILM FESTIVAL - Presents THE CHORUS A Drama from France (97 min) Pierre, a world famous conductor, has been awakened from his sleep by the news of a death. He returns to his childhood hometown to attend the funeral of his mother. As he returns this brings about memories of a teacher he once had, a Mr. Mathieu. He was a failed musician, who has given up on his profession. One evening he overhears a boy singing. He is so good; his hopes are revived once again. This will put him at odds with the other teachers and the headmaster. At the juvenile delinquency school any kind of real education is frowned upon because the headmaster believes that they are incorrigible. The headmaster believes in action – reaction, do something wrong and be punished. Mr. Mathieu secretly he teaches the boys, leading to a concert for the benefactors of the school. This movie is in the style of Music of the Heart and Mr. Holland’s Opus. It was also nominated for Best Foreign Film as well as Best Original Song at the Academy Awards. So come join us.
