Join Evelyn Ross and Ken Perlow at the Norton Public Library for an eight-session "Great Decisions" discussion group. Meetings will run on specified Tuesdays from 10:15 AM to 11:45 AM. Each meeting includes a film and a roundtable discussion of a different foreign policy issue.

Evelyn and Ken welcome back those who participated during the past years as well as new members who wish to join this year. Adults from Norton and surrounding towns are welcome to attend. There will be a $20 materials charge for the briefing book published by the Foreign Policy Association, payable to Ken Perlow at registration. Register at the library circulation desk December 15th - January 8th.

Join us at the library for a fun, interactive screening of the 1962 musical The Music Man! A con man comes to “River City” with a scam using a boys’ marching band program, but things don’t go according to plan. Sing along -or just listen and enjoy - some of the memorable songs such as “Ya Got Trouble,” “Good Night My Someone,” “Gary, Indiana,” “76 Trombones” and of course, “Marian the Librarian.” After winning the Tony Award for Outstanding Musical, the play was made into a film which won an Academy Award for Best Musical Score.

For years the public has been fascinated with the story of this Dustbowl Romeo and Juliet. This one hour lecture will tell their story through the use of period photographs and movies plus modern photographs and video shot by historian Christopher Daley, who has traveled the US on the "Trail of Bonnie and Clyde" photographing & making video of the sites of their homes, murders, robberies, shootouts and hideouts.

For parents and their children ages 2-3 years old.

Read and Rise is a free, six-session playgroup offered by Self Help Inc.'s Coordinated Family and Community Engagement Program and designed to help families to support their children’s early literacy development.  Children and parents will participate in stories, songs, activities, simple art projects and playgroup routines that focus on literacy. Each family will receive a children’s book to keep after each session that they attend.

Although we know things may come up, when you register, please try to committ to attending all six sessions: Jan 9, 16, 23, 30, Feb. 27, March 6
