American Board, formerly known as American Board for Certification of Teacher Excellence (ABCTE), is a national non-profit organization created by the Department of Education in 2001 as an alternative path to teacher certification for working professionals. Each state partner with one or two univerisites in a specific area. Pittsburgh works with Point Park University. The program enables anyone with a bachelor's degree in any area to obtain their teaching certification in a faster and more economical way. Hey teens! Join us at the Pine Center located in Pine-Richland High School, for the beginning of each week for Maker Mondays. Volunteers will be present to help create projects related to arts, crafts, electronics, sewing, and more.

On May 1: LED Flashlights

Create a working flashlight using coin batteries and LED lights.

Zumba is a strong cardio and muscular workout, incorporating dances such as merengue, salsa, hip hop, and belly dancing. Classes will be held on Mondays, April 3-May 8. On Monday, April 17 class will start at 6:45 PM and end at 7:30 PM and will be located in the upstairs meeting room. A fee of $30 is charged for the series if paid in advance, or you can pay as you go at $7 per class. The fee must be paid at the time of registration. This class will be held on the library's lower level, except for Mondays, April 17 and 24 when class will be upstairs.

Reptiles were the first to live entirely on the land and these critters invented a whole new way to lay eggs. While they had to sit in the sun to stay warm, they lived through the age of dinosaurs to populate the world today. Lizards, turtles, snakes, and crocodiles all have their own story to tell. While having fun and making new friends, children will improve their listening skills, collaborate with peers, and spark their imaginations. No prior acting experience necessary, just bring a smile!
