Computer Basics (Part 1 of 3)

Learn to identify different devices, computer hardware, and the common elements of a Windows-based operating system. Also, learn the different functions of a mouse and how to perform those functions.
Prerequisite: None
The Northwest Regional Library System
offers FREE workshops for beginning computer users;
location is at the Bay County Public Library computer lab.
Instruction is “hands on” and is designed to be progressive. You will achieve a better mastery if you start at the beginning and move through the sequence.
Registration is required--sign
up early. You must have a library card.
To register, please come in or telephone the reference desk at the (850)522-2107.
Please call promptly to cancel.
Sixteen (16) people may sign up,
we will not place names on a “waiting
list." Please arrive on time to be guaranteed a computer. Your space may be taken if you are late.
Note: Not all classes are offered every month. A new schedule is published on the 15th of the current month for the following month.

Applying the concepts taught in Computer Basics -- Part 1, students will navigate a word processing software program to create a file and then learn how to organize that file in folders.
Prerequisite: Computer Basics – Part 1 or equivalent experience

The Bay County Public Library Advisory Committee is a
seven member board whose members advise Bay, Gulf,
and Liberty County Commissioners on library related
issues. The LAC meets on the second Thursday of the
month in January, March, May, July, September and
November. Meetings are held at the Bay County Public Library in the public meeting room, beginning at 1:00 pm central. All
meetings are open to the public.
