On Thursdays throughout tax season you can schedule an appointment to come to the library and file your own income tax returns free of charge with the guidance of a DTF employee. If your income was below $60,000 last year then you are qualified to take advantage of this terrific program. The easy to follow interview-style program will help ensure you get all of the credits you deserve.  Most importantly, if you e-file your return, you will receive your refund twice as fast as someone who filed a paper return! Please note: Unlike previous years, these representatives will NOT prepare your returns for you. They will only be available to help you e-file your returns. Soule Branch Library has partnered with the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance (DTF) to help you file both your state and federal taxes online for free. If you have any questions, or if you would like to schedule an appointment, please stop in or call us at 435-5320.

Annie: It's a Hard Knock Life

Rated PG, 2014

Movie Poster

Synopsis

Annie is a young, happy foster kid who's also tough enough to make her way on the streets of New York in 2014. Originally left by her parents as a baby with the promise that they'd be back for her someday, it's been a hard knock life ever since with her mean foster mom Miss Hannigan. But everything's about to change when the hard-nosed tycoon and New York mayoral candidate Will Stacks makes a thinly-veiled campaign move and takes her in.

The Poster Project brings together local poets and Syracuse University artists to create an annual series of poetry posters for the poster panels of downtown Syracuse. The project enlivens the downtown, strengthens the city’s sense of place, and reaches the larger community by selling small prints of the large posters. Each year since its founding, in 2001, the project has produced 16 unique posters. Each poster features an illustrated poem about the downtown, city, or nearby countryside. The annual release of the poster series, in April, culminates nearly a year of work. Now see the artwork gathered in Petit!
