NVMAB and Monitor Refresher training is 6 hours annually and is required yearly once you have successfully completed the 20 hour NVMAB and Monitor training. Non-violent Management of Agressive Behavior (NVMAB) teaches a working knowledge in preventing and minimizing crisis situations where a person's behavior has the potential to cause serious injury to self or others. Monitor training is to understand an individual's emotional and physical reaction to restraint.

Outlines administration of all medications, potential side effects, problem resolution, and clinical information, etc. There are four 4 hour classes (Oct.5, 7, 12, and 14, 2010). All candidates need to attend every class in order to take the pre-test prior to Red Cross testing. You are required to put in 16 hours of course work, not including breaks. There can be no exceptions. You will require a physician's note for any absences due to illness. (Staff training procedure.)
