trans_van 8:45 AM  -  7:00 PM A TASTE OF BROOKLYN!* $75     Tell a Friend
    Resident sign-up begins Saturday, March 13;
Nonresident, Saturday, March 27

We start off with a visit to Brooklyn Borough Hall - both a NYC/NYS landmark. Discover the imposing Greek Revival style structure with its beautiful rotunda, monumental staircase, and cast-iron cupola. A site for many films. Then it's on to famous Junior's for a delightful lunch. Enjoy their deli sandwiches (with sides)served on rye bread (select in advance: corned beef, pastrami, brisket, beef or turkey ending with coffee/tea, and their world-renowned cheesecake for dessert!). Ready to explore again? We meet our famous Brooklyn tour guide, Tony Muia, proprietor of A Slice of Brooklyn Pizza Tour and featured guest on Food Network's Food Detectives. Tony travels with us as we pass by "The Neighborhoods," Flatbush Avenue, Grand Army Plaza, The Brooklyn Public Library, The Brooklyn Museum, The Brooklyn Botanic Garden, the original location of Ebbett's Field, Prospect Park, Park Slope, and Windsor Terrace. We make a stop at beautiful Green-Wood Cemetery. Established in 1838, Green-Wood is one of America's first rural cemeteries and a Revolutionary War historic site. Then it's back on the motor coach and over to Victorian Flatbush where we see lovely Victorian homes built between 1895 ad 1905. Sadly we bid farewell to Tony and head home to our own slice of L.I. *Please wear comfortable walking shoes and don't forget the camera! Approximate return time is 7:00 p.m.

PLEASE NOTE: You may purchase up to 4 tickets per residence for this Library trip. Refunds will only be issued if your ticket is sold to a replacement. Please do not park in the Library parking lot, or in front of stores in the shopping center. Parking is available on Guttenberg Path, the street located parallel to Hicksville Road. (Note: The motor coach departs from Guttenberg Path not the Library parking lot). Trip itineraries are subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances. Special Needs? Call 735-4133 several days prior to trip. Closed out of trip? Have your name and phone number placed on our waiting list. We will contact you as tickets become available.
