Drop In.   8:00 PM “Proof” at the Arlington Friends of the Drama       On February 11, 2010, the Friends are sponsoring the performance of “Proof” at Arlington Friends of the Drama (22 Academy Street). “Proof” is a Pulitzer Prize-winning play that starred Mary-Louise Parker on Broadway and Gwyneth Paltrow and Anthony Hopkins in the movie version. It is the story of a young woman, who has spent years caring for her brilliant but unstable father, a famous mathematician. Now, following his death, she must deal with her own volatile emotions, the arrival of her estranged sister, and the attentions of a former student of her father’s looking for valuable work that he may have left behind. The performance is at 8:00 pm and will be preceded by an introductory talk by the Arlington Friends of the Drama. Tickets to this extraordinary work are $20 for Friends of the Robbins members and $25 for nonmembers. Just visit the Circulation Desk at the Robbins Library to obtain your tickets. Refreshments will be served.
