    Sewickley Bruegger’s and the Friends of the Sewickley Public Library are getting together to raise money for the Library.  Fundraisers will take place on the first and third Saturday of every month.  All you have to do is bring a coupon to Bruegger’s on a fundraising Saturday and 15% of your total purchase will go to the Friends of the Sewickley Public Library.  Now, it’s really easy to help your Library just by eating a bagel. Don’t forget to bring a coupon and eat at Bruegger’s. Click here to Print the coupons.

    Prepping to take the PSAT next Fall? Get ready by taking a Kaplan-sponsored free PSAT PRACTICE TEST.

Not only is the PSAT excellent preparation for the SAT, it’s also an opportunity for juniors to earn scholarships for college. Take a full-length practice test, then get your results back with a detailed score report that will show you “where the points are” so you can see exactly how you can raise your score the most for the real thing in October.

All students are welcome, especially those who will be sophomores and juniors next fall. REGISTRATION REQUIRED.

    Locally renowned test prep teacher, Phil McCaffrey, will be leading a series of 8 SAT Prep sessions. He will be using his highly-refined "FLIP Test Prep" method. Students will take real SAT exams before class. Topics will be driven by students figuring out what they do not know in advance. Then, tracking their mistakes by concepts, each student will be given a study plan tailored to their own needs.

Cost is $120 ($15 per session). Sign up by June 5th and we will include all materials! 
 
Class is limited to first 12 students who register and pay in advance. Registration required.

    Our Friday morning Journal Writing group invites everyone to a special presentation on writing by author and teacher Pam O’Brien, who teaches her  well-regarded class “Writing Your Memoirs” at the University of Pittsburgh’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute. She also teaches in Pitt’s English Department and is the Associate Director of  Public and Professional Writing. She has published four books of poetry, her latest being The Answer to Each Is the Same. Pam will discuss and suggest a writing exercise with time for Q&A.

    On Saturday, June 29 from 10AM to 1PMCommonwealth Computer Recycling (C.C.R.) will be accepting consumer electronic materials in our parking lot. C.C.R. has been awarded the prestigious R2 certification. This means that they have met very specific and strict standards set by the EPA to safely recycle and manage electronics. Items that they will accept and recycle for free include: computers, monitors, printers, cables/wires, strings of Christmas lights, cell phones, and most types of consumer electronics (unfortunately, CCR can no longer accept televisions.) They will also be offering hard drive erasure and destruction on-site for a $10.00 fee per drive.     Locally renowned test prep teacher, Phil McCaffrey, will be leading a series of 8 SAT Prep sessions. He will be using his highly-refined "FLIP Test Prep" method. Students will take real SAT exams before class. Topics will be driven by students figuring out what they do not know in advance. Then, tracking their mistakes by concepts, each student will be given a study plan tailored to their own needs.

Cost is $120 ($15 per session). Sign up by June 5th and we will include all materials! 
 
Class is limited to first 12 students who register and pay in advance. Registration required.

June 19, 26
July 3, 10, 24, 31 -no session on 17-
August 7, 14
