Learn to Knit

1:00-2:00 PM, Learn to Knit. 2:00-4:00 PM, Keep on Knitting. Everyone in the family (ages 10+, teens and adults) can learn to knit in this fun, free class. An experienced instructor will teach knitting from 2-4 p.m. every Saturday this Fall. This class will teach basic knitting techniques, casting on and binding off, while knitting a scarf. Knitters with some experience will learn to increase, decrease and read a pattern. Bring knitting needles (size 8, 9 or 10), yarn (worsted, light, bright colors) and friends or family! Class is limited to 10 participants, so click below to register. To help defray the cost of the program, there is a small fee of $1 per class.

Every 4th Monday, the Book Club reads and discusses books suggested by the community and librarian on different themes. Participate and enjoy lively discussion and suggest your favorite book to the group for the next session. This month, the group will discuss Kathryn Stockett’s The Help. Ask the library staff to order the book for you. Or go to http://catalogeinetwork.net/search/ to place a hold. Books can be picked up at the library.
