Ted Widmer, the author of Listening In: The Secret White House Recordings of John F. Kennedy will discuss the Kennedy recordings and what it was like to listen to them. Join us on the Main Floor for this exciting talk!
Ted Widmer is Assistant to the President for Special Projects at Brown University. He served recently as a senior advisor to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and also worked for President Bill Clinton as a speechwriter and senior advisor. He is the former director of the John Carter Brown Library at Brown University, and the author or editor of numerous history books, including Disunion: Writers Reconsider the Civil War (2013), Ark of the the Liberties: America and the World (2008), American Speeches (2006), Martin Van Buren (2001), Campaigns: A Century of Presidential Races (2001) and Young America: The Flowering of Democracy in New York City (1998). He is also a frequent contributor to the New York Times.

The Children's Library will be presenting a "Family & Friends CPR Class" led by Jeff Morin. The class teaches the lifesaving skills of adult Hands-Only CPR, child CPR with breaths, adult and child AED use, infant CPR and relief of choking in and adult, infant, or child.
Family & Friends CPR is for people who want to learn CPR but do not need a course completion card for their job. This corse is ideal for schools and students, parents, grandparents, babysitters and others interested in learning how to save al lfie.
Please register for this program in the Children's Library.
