Kingston Free Library: Open 6 days/week all year. Summer same as Winter except Saturday (10-5 W, 9-12 S).

    How the program works:
     1.  Sign up for the program at the Robert Beverly Hale Library and pick
          up your packet.  Sign up begins June 28th.
     2.  Each time you finish a book of your choice, fill out a book review sheet  
          and the raffle ticket at the bottom.   
     3.  Deposit the raffle portion in the raffle box slot and turn in your
           review at the desk.
          The more you read the more chances you have to win.
     4. Drawings will be held weekly on Fridays from July 19th – August 23rd.

When you have read five books:
  1. Fill out and deposit the GRAND PRIZE COUPON at the bottom of your reading log page by Friday, August 23. This enters you for the Grand Prize Drawing on Monday, August 26, 2013.  One Grand Prize entry allowed per member.

The Peace Dale Library will be offering drop-in summer storytimes between July 1-August 15th. Join us each week for these interactive storytimes filled with books, storytelling, music, movement, art and other activities! Caretakers are required to attend the Wigglers and Circle Time storytimes and siblings are welcome for all. There will be NO storytime on July 31 or August 12. The weekly summer storytime schedule is as follows:

Wigglers (6 months-2.5 years): Mondays at 10:30 A.M. Storytime lasts 25-30 minutes.
Circle Time (2 and 3 years): Wednesdays at 10:00 A.M. Storytime lasts 25-30 minutes.
Stories & More (3 years andup): Wednesdays at 11:00 A.M. Storytime lasts approximately 45 minutes.

    The Peace Dale Library Evening Book Discussion Group will be meeting at the Neighborhood Guild, 325 Columbia St., Peace Dale, for the July and August meetings. We'll be in Room 14, at the end of the hall on the main floor. Parking access to the Guild is from Columbia St. There is an elevator to the main floor.

We will also be starting the meetings at 6:30 PM (not 7 PM).

Our Mad Scientist will amaze the children as they "dig" into the layers of the Earth to see its make-up. They will also investigate how scientists evaluate what they find. The presentation really pops when they see what happens when what's inside the Earth tries to get out. This presentation ROCKS!

    Fun Fused Glass Class - Where children enjoy with  Deenie Pacik Giuliano, creating, writing, and drawing on fused glass pendants inspired by their favorite booksThey have fun with colorful pre-cut glass, crushed glass, powders, and dichroic glass. Just like volcanoes that spew molten lava from the underground, fused glass is molten at 1480 degrees in the kiln (after the class, back in her home studio).     Our second annual Tween Lock-in will be held on July 19 from 6 - 9:30pm  at Kingston Free Library. Join us as we scratch beneath the surface of music  with Rick Morin and the RHYTHM IMAGINARIUM to explore rhythms to create a unique story. Drum set, buckets, hand drums and electronic percussion will be provided for this fun, interactive program. You will be amazed at the diversity of sounds produced during this workshop.
