SOCCER SHOTS IS WORKING WITH THE LIBRARY WITH A NEW PROGRAM....KIDS FITNESS-SOCCER STYLE.

YOU WILL NEED TO REGISTER YOUR CHILD THROUGH SOCCER SHOT DIRECTLY SO THEY CAN BETTER PLACE YOU CHILD IN THE CORRECT SOCCER CLASS.  THIS PROGRAM WILL BE HELD AT THE COMMUNITY CENTER.  THE 2-5 YEARS OLD PROGRAM IS A TOTAL OF 8-WEEKS.    THE 5-8 YEARS OLD PROGRAM WILL BE A 5-WEEKS.

First we will “Shake Out Our Sillies”, then we will sit down to enjoy a couple of exciting books relating to the letter of the week. There will be songs, rhymes, movement activities and more. The kids will be introduced to a new exercise each week. We will continue to feature a different S.T.E.M. activity each week. This week...LETTER T (again)!

Pysanky is a traditional craft in Ukraine, with a history of thousands of years. The method is similar to batik--patterns are drawn on the egg with wax, which then protects the covered areas from the dye that is applied. Artists from St. Peter & St. Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church will be here to teach you. The cost is $10 per person. Space is limited. Registration is required. All supplies will be provided.

Many of us – our parents, grandparents or great grandparents – came from another country – perhaps from Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, or Latin America. Or maybe you are a refugee from one of these areas.

Ten of your neighbors, both long-time residents and newcomers, have created their own short video accounts about immigration to the Pittsburgh area.  Share these experiences with them and others in our community.  Join in a discussion about what it was like a generation ago and what it is like now to become uprooted and start a new life.

Enjoy food from different cultures, music and dance, and learn more about the mosaic of cultures that makes up our community.

~~Former Virginia senator Lincoln Bowe is missing. His wife, Madison, believes his bitter political rival, Governor Arlo Goodman, is behind it.
