Have you ever wanted to learn high-tech skills but thought you couldn't? In today's world, e-mail, web browsing, and spreadsheets are just the tip of the iceberg, and more complex skills are increasingly useful even outside of tech careers. If you've ever wanted to make your own website, build your own app, or secure your smartphone against unwanted prying, join us! Our coding club for women is for all women, ages 18 to 98, who want to learn and experiment in a low-pressure, highly collaborative environment.

We can't promise you'll be a "leet hacker", but if you ever wanted to give beyond-the-basic computer skills a try, bring your curiosity, enthusiasm, and ideas about what you want to learn, and we'll all teach each other! This is a club for those who enjoy self-directed learning.

Club meets monthly, light snacks provided, please pre-register.

Infertility can be lonely but you are not alone

1 in 8 couples struggle with infertility. Study after study links infertility with depression & anxiety. While the internet is helpful for research, there is great value sitting beside someone who can say, “Yes, me too.”

Our peer-led support groups are available to women, men, individuals and couples currently struggling with infertility. This open forum enables you to meet others who are facing similar challenges, in a relaxed and confidential setting. Topics of discussion may include current treatment, dealing with friends & family, and coping strategies.

Group start time is 6:30.

Come and join us!  Newcomers are welcome to come early (6 pm) for an introduction to what Citizens' Climate Lobby is and what we do.

Citizens’ Climate Lobby is a non-profit, non-partisan, grassroots advocacy organization focused on national policies to address climate change. Our consistently respectful, non-partisan approach to climate education is designed to create a broad, sustainable foundation for climate action across all geographic regions and political inclinations. By building upon shared values rather than partisan divides, and empowering our supporters to work in keeping with the concerns of their local communities, we work towards the adoption of fair, effective, and sustainable climate change solutions. In order to generate the political will necessary for passage of our Crbon Fee and Dividend proposal we train and support volunteers to build relationships with elected officials, the media and their local community.

Disabilities can have visible signs--like mobility devices or dark glasses and a cane--or they can be what we call invisible disabilities, those that don't have outwardly visible signs--like Crohn's disease  or mental health conditions. Visible or invisible, disabilities affect how people perceive us; someone with a visible disability might feel people are afraid to approach them, just like a person with an invisible disability might have to argue that they really do need the help they're asking for! This week brings awareness to disability in all its forms. Do you have a condition that makes it harder to get by, and wish people understood it better? SCRATCH THE SURFACE! Use our scratch-art paper to let your colors shine through! Tell us about your condition(s) and experiences with disability. All ages

"Miracle Marc" is a Springfield Cultual Council-funded film produced by Lorenzo Gaines.

Overview:
August 2, 2017, Marc Vizacarrondo went to camp for the first day and drowned. He was revived poolside and rushed to the hospital. Seventy hours later we were able to better
gain a picture of his prognosis. Before the accident Marc wanted to be a star.  Today, we are going to make that happen by sharing his story. The title of the film came  from the Doctors discharge papers. The doctors have used Marc as a case study. This film is about the power of faith and a community coming together and praying.
