Holiday Card Exchange

Do you send out holiday cards every year, and wonder what to do with the leftovers? Bring in your unused cards, with envelopes, and exchange them for new ones at the library. You may take one card for each one that you leave.

The library staff will be decorating our tree with socks, mittens, hats, and scarfs that will be donated to those in need at the end of the Festival of Trees. We are encouraging community members to contribute by coming into the library and placing donations of new items on the tree.

Our 2014 Festival Trees Christmas Program will be held on Monday December 1st, 2014. 

Please come in and enjoy the many beautiful and unique trees decorated by local businesses and organizations that will be on display in the library from December 1st through December 31st.

Hours for the program are 6pm – 8pm.

Festival of Trees Children’s Program is at 6:00 pm

Children of all ages are invited to begin the holiday season with a special Christmas story time and craft, sponsored by the Optimist Club of Jasper.  Light refreshments will be provided by the Pickens Ferst Foundation for Childhood Literacy.

All-Ages Festival of Trees Program is at 7:00 p.m.

Please join us for our annual holiday program, featuring seasonal entertainment beginning at 7:00 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided by the Pickens Ferst Foundation for Childhood Literacy.

Lunch and Learn Knitting 12PM – 2PM - Bring your brown bag lunch, needles and yarn to the Gilmer County Library. Lauren Cape and Lynda Decker will be your host and teacher. Already know how to knit, come for the fun! If you are unable to attend a meeting, come when you can, you don’t have to be at every class. If knitting, bring #8 needles and yarn of any color.  If crocheting, bring G or H hooks and Peaches & Cream cotton yarn of any color.
