    In honor of Veterans Day, the Garyville Branch will have a guessing jar activity. A jar will be filled with red, white, and blue goodies for children to guess the number of items in the jar. It is also an activity used to remind kids to remember all patriots both living and deceased who have risked their lives to serve our country. The winner will receive the goodies and a brief poem about Veterans Day. Guessing dates are from 11/3/14 through 11/10/14 during the library open hours. On Monday, 11/10/2014 at 4PM, the winner will be given their prize. Ages: 5-12

    Every Wednesday in November, a one-on-one computer class will be offered for 30 minutes. There will be classes on how to use the mouse and keyboard, how to operate the PC and its hardware, introduction to e-mail, introduction to the internet, how to use Microsoft Office Word, Microsoft Office Publisher, and Microsoft Office PowerPoint. Patrons are encouraged to sign up in advance for the classes by calling the Central Library and stating which program(s) they are interested in. Ages: Adults
