STONEHAM PUBLIC LIBRARY MAY ART SHOW

The Stoneham Public Library is pleased to announce the  exhibit of Craig O’Neill’s paintings.  Mr. O’Neill’s  beautiful  art work is primarily in pastels, oils and charcoal.   He enjoys painting portraits,  figures,  landscapes  and interiors.  Craig’s work also includes painting multiple versions of the same subject or different views over time.

Join us for lots of fun.  This will be the Junior Library's  Summer Reading Club's Kick Off event.  Mini GOLF ~IN THE  Library!   A Professional Mobile Mini Golf course will be set up in the Library...around chairs, under tables and around bookstacks.  What fun.  Everyone welcome. 

This event will be the kick off to the Summer Reading Club.  "EVERY HERO HAS A STORY"

Stations will be set up to help with club registration and provide information.

  We are pleased to anounce that  the 2015 Club will  once again be a  "participate from anywhere you have internet, On-Line Summer Reading Club". 

We are still in the planning stages, but mark your calendar for June 22nd Mini Golf extravaganza!

Join us for a Family Fun Night SUNFLOWER PROGRAM.   Space is limited, registration required.  Registration begins Monday June 8th.

 We will have sunflower planting kits and a special sunflower craft  provided by the Topsfield Fair.

The Junior  Library's is happy to announce  that the Summer Reading Club has once again partnered  with the Topsfield Fair, America's oldest fair founded 1818. 

 The "Year of the SunFlower" is the offical theme of the 2015 Topsfiled Fair.  If you have success with your sunflower you are invited to display it at the Topsfield Fair in the fall.  If you participate in the Library's Summer Reading Club you will have the opportunity to qualify for a FREE day at the Fair!  Admission, Lunch and Rides!   More information to come.

REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. (Begin registration June 8th)  SPACE IS LIMITED.  ONE KIT PER FAMILY.

Diane Kordas, Romper Rhythm and Puppets,  will be at the Stoneham Library with her puppet friends!  Show will feature the Dinosaur Days DINO MAN!  Fun for tots with audience participation to help the puppets on their way!  See www.romperrhythm.com for more information.

Diane Kordas has been performing music for children and families since 1992, and puppet shows since 1998. Diane makes  her own puppet characters and scripts for her shows. Her classic and original stories with puppets, music, humor and audience participation .

Wooden Toy Workshop

The children get to use real hammers and nails to put the projects together, ~~This will be a super fun Woodworking program. Boys and girls (with an adult)  will  build wooden banks using precut pieces of wood, hammer, nails and paints!!!  Loads of fun!

Space is limited.  This is a Child/ Adult  team project. Best for children ages 5+.   TICKETS, $3.00 per project, (to cover paint supplies), will be available in the Junior Library starting June 9th.

How do MAGIC tricks really work? This exciting program investigates the science behind the "MAGIC" of several classic magic tricks.  You might learn how to snatch a tablecloth without disturbing the items on top, make a balloon fireproof, and use electromagnetism to defy gravity.  For the finale, the Museum of Science educator demonstrates how science can make it safe to lie down on a real bed of nails.

A repeat of last summer's fantistic program....

This is guaranteed to  be a very FUN HULA HOOPING PROGRAM  

It is ALL about the HULA HOOP!, a teaching demonstration on how to hula hoop, and then a  performance to show different things that can be done laughwith the hoop.    

cheekyEveryone will have the opportunity to play with the different types and sizes of hoops, with instructor either  teaching basic hooping or giving challenges and tricks to more experienced hoopers.   wink Finally everyone will be brought together for a couple group games & creativity with the hoop.
