A special reading of I CAN HELP with author / illustrator David Hyde Costello.

I CAN HELP is a simple story about building a community by paying attention to the needs of others. The animals in the book provide assistance to each other in various jams and light perils in a humorous pattern of helpfulness.
Author / illustrator David Hyde Costello draws and sings for the audience, and shares a visit with a six-foot-tall cardboard giraffe puppet. The explanation of how the puppet is built is a fascinating show-and-tell for children and adults alike.

Reviews of I CAN HELP:
“…perfect intellectual engagement on the preschool level.” – Newsday
“This simple tale of helpfulness is a charmer.”Martha Simpson, Stratford Library Association, CT – School Library Journal

The Stupendous Mr. Magichead Show is consistently acknowledged as "the funniest children's show around".  Aimed at children ages 3-10 and their families, his quickly-paced costumed character magic show features extensive audience interaction, plenty of clowning around, and trickery that will mystify even the most sophisticated grown-ups, including an actual appearance of Lulu The Magic Bunny in an empty hat!  Mr. Magichead personally guarantees that "your kids will be sitting down, laughing their heads off, for 50 solid minutes". The performance is followed by 10/15 minutes of bunny petting and photo opportunities.

Welcome To The Dollhouse 1995 Rated R

"Welcome to the Dollhouse" remembers with brutal and unforgiving accuracy the hell of junior high school. Many movies reconstruct those years as a sort of adolescent paradise; it's a shock, watching this film, to remember how cruel kids can be to one another, and how deeply the wounds cut."- Roger Ebert

Seventh-grade is no fun. Especially for Dawn Weiner( Heather Matarazzo) when everyone at school calls you 'Dog-Face' or 'Wiener-Dog.' Not to mention if your older brother is 'King of the Nerds' and your younger sister is a cutesy ballerina who gets you in trouble but is your parents' favorite.

Movie will be inside in the event of rain.

Come enjoy the classic coming of age film,

Stand By Me - 1986 Directed By Rob Reiner

It's the summer of 1959 in Castlerock, Oregon and four 12 year-old boys - Gordie, Chris, Teddy and Vern - are fast friends. After learning of the general location of the body of a local boy who has been missing for several days, they set off into woods to see it. Along the way, they learn about themselves, the meaning of friendship and the need to stand up for what is right.

Parental Note: This movie was originally rated R for profanity and a scene where the kids view a corpse. It may be now closer to PG -13, which did not exist in 1986. We encourage parents to make their own informed decision based their own views and knowledge of their children.
