"Ove" is Stratford Library Book Talk

Fredrik Backman Novel is Finale for Series on June 29th

The Stratford Library "Books Over Coffee" program concludes its 2016 spring series with a discussion of Fredrik Backman's popular novel, A Man Called Ove on Wednesday, June 29th at noon. "Books Over Coffee" is hosted by Stratford educator and author Kathleen Faggella.

Ove is a curmudgeon - the kind of man who points at people he dislieks as if they were burglars caught outside his bedroom window. He has staunch principles, strict routines and a short fuse. People call him "the bitter negihbor from hell." Bust must Ove be bitter just because he doesn't walk around with a smile plastered to his face all the time? Behind the cranky exterior there is a story and a sadness. So when one November morning a chatty young couple with two chatty young daughters move in next door and accidentally flatten Ove's mailbox, it is te lead-in to a comical and heartwarming tale of unkempt cats, unexpected friednshi and the ancient art of backing up a U-Haul. All of which change one cranky old man and a local resiudents' association to their very foundations.

"Books Over Coffee" will be held in the Stratford Library's Lovell Room beginning at noon on June 29th. Participants are invited to bring a bag lunch to the program and coffee and tea is also served. Limited reading copies of A Man Called Ove are available for loan at the library's Circulation Desk. All "Books Over Coffee" titles are available at the Library or on Kindle and Nook eReaders for loan. Patrons can also download the ebook or eaudiobook through the OverDrive app at the Library. "Books Over Coffee" will resume in September.
