Children ages 5-10 are invited to the Sussex-Wantage Branch to practice their reading skills by reading aloud to a certified therapy dog. Each child will be allowed a full 10 minutes of one-on-one reading time. Therapy dogs provide an uncritical ear while the child gains self-esteem, confidence, public speaking skill and a love of reading. The dogs never interrupt or criticize!

Each child signs up for a specific time slot: 6:30, 6:45, 7:00, or 7:15 p.m. Registration is in person or over the phone by calling the Sussex-Wantage Branch Library at 973 875-3940. Please arrive on time with a couple of books to read or early enough to pick out some library books.

Bring your baby to the library! Enjoy books, songs, fingerplays and more for ages 6 months through 2 years old. This short, fast-paced program is followed by free play. All children must be accompanied by a caregiver.

Registration is required and begins April 4. Registering for any one week automatically signs you up for all four Mondays from April 18-May 9. If you can't make any week please call the Sussex-Wantage Branch so we can make your spot available to the waiting list.

Attention all LEGO lovers Kindergarten and up, join us at any of the five locations listed below for a monthly meeting of LEGO Club. We've gathered a large and varied collection of our favorite plastic building bricks that can be put together in endless combinations. Work alone, bring a friend, or even make new friends as you build, rearrange and demolish all your LEGO creations.

Herbie the Miner, the beloved mascot of the Sussex County Miners baseball team, will be making appearances here and at the Main Library (May 21 at noon). Children in first grade and older are invited to join us as we read a baseball book, make crafts, play games and pose for pictures with this gentle giant of baseball.

Oh, and did we mention Crackerjacks? Of course we'll be eating Crackerjacks.

Space is limited to 20 at each location. Please sign up to here to meet Herbie at Sussex-Wantage Branch. Registration begins May 7.
