Google Educator Series: Intro to Google Suite session 1 FULL

Session one of four sessions to get a certificate as an Experienced Google Educator. Google Apps Educator Series (session one of four, or stand alone workshop).
This series is focused on the classroom teacher or school administrator, but will be just as valuable to anyone who wants to improve their productivity, communication, organization and research. Each session will have a primary focus and there will be lots of hands-on time to work with the Google services. We’ll look at additional Google services each session as time permits.
Session 1. Intro to the Google Suite of Apps and Services
This series overview session will focus on: What is Google Apps, Cloud Computing, Search, and an exploration of the many Google services, resources, training and support.
This is the first of four in a series, or you can take it as a stand-alone workshop.
The cost for this workshop is $20. This workshop is offered at a special, subsidized price to help area educators address the technology requirements in the Common Core. No additional partner discounts are available.

Getting Started with the Google ChromeBook

This new class which will include a Samsung Google ChromeBook as part of the session! Learn about your new Chromebook from the ground up… we’ll be opening the box, charging up, logging in to our Google Account, and learning about the Chrome operating system and the Chrome browser. We’ll customize our Chromebooks to work best for our needs and find extensions for Chrome to help us work smarter.
The cost of $325 will includes the Chromebook.
Registration for this session MUST be completed by May 17th in order for us to order your Chromebook in time.

Getting Started With Your iPad
|

At this three hour training, you will receive the latest model of the popular iPad with retina display and have hands on instruction on the basic use of this tool. We will work with the native apps on the iPad, such as Maps and Notes, and setting up your mail to come in on the iPad. Participants will learn cool tips and tricks for everyday use, how to work with the settings to further customize the iPad and about time-saving shortcuts.
To Prepare
Set up an Apple ID. Directions are found here. (Note, past experience has taught us that it is easy to forget your ID, causing problems in setting up your new iPad. Please write it down carefully - it is case sensitive!)
Payment is due at the time of registration. The registration deadline is May 24th, to allow time to order the iPad. Please note that no refunds can be offered after the iPad order is placed.
Cost: $599.00 includes the latest version of the iPad, with retina display, training, and a light dinner.

iPad as a Dynamic Teaching Tool

The iPad is a game-changing technology for the classroom that makes instruction and learning something that can literally be held in the hand. This workshop will show some ways that this remarkable device can be used by teachers to present material in their classrooms: by sharing the iPad screen; by using the cameras and connectivity in the classroom, and as an interactive feedback tool. Topics will include: hardware needed; app suggestions for presentations, interactive lessons, and for classroom feedback (some free, some not as free).
Please bring with you to the session: 1) your iPad or iPad Mini 2)your Apple ID and password and, 3) one or two ideas or lesson plans that you’d like to teach using the iPad as your primary delivery device. Please ensure that you have the capability of downloading and installing apps on your device.
