Thayer Public Library presents : Discover Mindfulness Series

Discover Mindfulness and the rich range of meditation practices, offering ease and awareness amidst the pressures of our daily lives.

To be mindful means simply to come into the present moment however, to be mindful for large portions of our day requires an informed daily practice. Experience or no experience, all that is needed is your body, your heart, your mind and an inner willingness to explore what it means to be alive, awake and present.

The program will include meditation instruction, sitting and walking practices as well as time for question and answers

Come explore the present moment with us and feel free to bring a friend.

All programs are free and open to the public. You do not have to be a resident of Braintree to attend.   Registration is required.

This program is made possible through the use of library state aid funds.

Taught by: Madeline Klyne and Paul Cheevers of South Shore Insight Meditation Center

Pioneer Woman Cooks: Food from My Frontier by Ree Drummond is this month’s selection. The Pioneer Woman Cooks: Recipes from an Accidental Country Girl by the same author is the alternate selection.

Borrow a copy  from the library and make a dish from it to share! Books are available at the Circulation Desk one month ahead. (If you borrow a cookbook but won't be able to attend the meeting, please return the cookbook so someone else can check it out. Thank you!)

Remember to register through the library calendar, by phone, or by email to let Laurie know what recipe you’ll be trying so we don't have a lot of duplication in the dishes we'll sample on meeting night!

No need to double the recipe, as we will all just be tasting each other's recipes. Pro Tip: Don't eat dinner before the meeting!

Pro Tip: Don't eat dinner before the meeting. (You won't need to!)

The Heart of the Plate by Mollie Katzen is this month’s selection. Get Cooking: 150 Simple Recipes to Get You Started in the Kitchen by the same author is the alternate selection.

Borrow a copy  from the library and make a dish from it to share. Books are available at the Circulation Desk one month ahead.

Please register through the library calendar, by phone, or by email and let Laurie know what recipe you’ll be trying so we don't have a lot of duplication in the dishes we'll sample on meeting night!

No need to double the recipe, as we will all just be tasting each other's recipes. New members are always welcome! If you borrow a cookbook but can't participate, please return the cookbook so someone else can check it out. Thank you!

Pro Tip: Don't eat dinner before the meeting. (You won't need to!)

The Smitten Kitchen Cookbook by Deb Perelman is this month’s selection. Smitten Kitchen Every Day by the same author is the alternate selection.
