Join us across the street at the Farmers Market for library day. Make a craft and have your face painted. All who stop by will receive a coloring book.

 We'll be talking about the wacky and hilarious  " Bad Kitty takes a bath by Bruel. The Bad Kitty is black, like Halloween cats, so we'll chat about it then maybe play some Halloween games. Come for Book Club FUN!!!

The book the kids pick for the next book club will be announced!

Details: We all read the same book then chat about it. We always do an activity or game related to the book, and often  get a bit silly! Snacks provided.  Copies available from the Children's room staff.  The club meets one Tuesday afternoon a month at 3:45. Open to all in gr. 2 and 3 who have read part of the book, or had it read to them. We meet in the larger Program room, just beyond the puzzle and stained glass windows of the Children's Room.

     The title for this month to read ahead is: "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows " by J.K. Rowling. It is the last book in the Harry Potter series and the one the kids chose.

      This is a FUN Book Club for kids in grade 4 and 5!  We chat about the book and always do an activity related to the book. We have snacks and fun, and usually play a game!  You can get a copy of the book from staff or reserve a copy from Old Colony Library Network.If you don't have time to finish it, come to Book Club anyway.  All kids in grades 4 and 5 are welcome. The kids choose the books to read next.  We meet one Thursday evening a month, and talk about a different book each month. Held in Children's Room.

Thayer Public Library presents PuppeTree .

Vermont’s PuppeTree Inc. touring production of THE LEGEND OF SLEEPY HOLLOW with 150 shadow puppets is a special show for Kindergarden -  8th Grade students and their families. This beautiful sepia toned production runs 44 minutes narrated in Washington Irving’s exact words. Then the audience get a fun peak backstage of how the show works—how the puppets are manipulated to control the shadows seen on screen.

The PuppeTree Inc. is listed on the New England Foundation for the Arts Teaching Artist Roster and has performed this show to thousands of people of all ages from New Jersey to Maine for the last 12 years. By the way, with all of our unique, brightly colored, articulated puppets and great background music, the show is just plain FUN!
