Kids in Kindergarten - 2nd grade are invited to participate in the 2017 Winter Reading Program.  Following along with a reading guide, participants will get a dragon scale to help us form a reading dragon.  Participants who read all of the books will get to pick a treat from the Mystery Box!


Registration begins Wednesday, January 4

Form your team of 1 student (a 3rd or 4th grader) and 1 grown-up who is related to the student.  Come in to the Library to register, receive your booklist, check-out books, and start reading.  All teams will read the same books and come back to the library for a fun quiz show event!  

1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will receive a trophy; everyone will get a take-home prize and bragging rights; the school with the most points will win a trophy to display for one year.

This class combines action rhymes, songs, interactive play, and books all designed to hold the attention of our youngest participants. Active adult participation is encouraged.

This is a hands-on class. Students will learn the critical skills needed to respond to and manage an emergency until emergency medical services arrives. Students who complete this class will receive certification from the American Heart Association.

CPR class - $25 per person  (Heartsaver® CPR AED)

CPR + First Aid Class - $35 per person  (Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED)

The First Aid class immediately follows the CPR class.

Payment is due at the time of the event. Cash or check accepted. Please make checks payable to Tri-Community South EMS.

If your child has difficulty sitting through a regular storytime, perhaps this class will work for you.  We are hoping you and your child will feel comfortable and safe in this storytime setting.

We’ll share books, songs, rhymes, and spend time socializing in our Story Room.  A parent or caregiver is asked to attend with their child and help guide them through the activities.

1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will receive a trophy; everyone will get a take-home prize and bragging rights; the school with the most points will win a trophy to display for one year.

History Night is a discussion group that meets at the USC and Mt. Lebanon Libraries.  The group meets from January through April, then October through December. It is facilitated by history enthusiasts Glenn Flickinger and Scott Moore. Today's meeting is at the USC Library.  The topic: The End of the War. The Americans roll into Germany.  How did the war in Europe end and what is the fall out from the defeat of Germany both then and now? All this will be discussed. Registration is requested.
