VENTRESS LIBRARY CULTURAL SERIES PRESENTS
SOUTH SHORE BRASS QUINTET ON MAY 25 FOR
FREE SEASON FINALE CONCERT!
The Ventress Library Cultural Series is pleased
to present the South Shore Brass Quintet for
the season finale concert on Saturday, May 25,
2013 at 2:00 p.m. in a program called "Evolution
of the Brass Quintet: 16th to 21st Centuries."
As an ensemble, the group will play a variety of songs
that reflect the transition from early through traditional to
modern music. Each member will also discuss the
history of their own instrument and play it individually
to educate and entertain the audience. The event is
a family concert, suitable for all age groups.
South Shore Brass Quintet
is comprised of local professional musicians, some of
whom also teach students in the area. Musicians include:
Bobby Gallegos and Pat Stout on trumpet; Julienne
Thornell on trombone; Bob Ferrante on French horn;
and Jerry Shaw on tuba.
Ventress Library concerts are free and open to the
public; no tickets are required. Light refreshments
are served at a post-concert social hour. The library
and performance space are handicapped accessible.

Soule Homestead Composting program

Representatives from Soule Homestead Education Center in Middleboro Ma will present a composting program for kids age 5 and up. Participants will learn where soil comes from, learn how Mother Nature is the original recycler and discover about life in the soil. In addition each participant will have the opportunity to create and bring home their own compost project. Space in this program is limited and sign up begins in the children's room on Tuesday July 2nd.

Wingmasters presents: North American Birds of Prey. This live animal show is intended for children age 5 and up and their parent/caregiver. This show is a fantastic opportunity to see and learn about various birds of prey including owls, hawks and falcons. Space in this event is limited and free tickets will be available beginning Tuesday July 23rd in the children's room of the library.
