Librarian Debbie Sternklar will hold Middle School Book Club meetings at 2:30 on the 4th Thursday of each month this spring.  Books can be picked up at the public library or the C.A. Bouton High School Library where the club meets.  Refreshments will be served.

The March book will be: The Grimm Legacy by Polly Shulman

The Grimm Collection at the special library, the New-York Circulating Material Repository stores magical items from the famous fairy tales.  There are seven-league boots, a talking mirror, and a table that sets itself with a feast of German food.  Items have started mysteriously disappearing from the collection, and it’s up to the teenage library workers to solve the thefts.

Small as an Elephant by Jennifer Jacobson

Ever since Jack can remember, his mom has been unpredictable, sometimes loving and fun, other times caught in a whirlwind of energy and "spinning" wildly until it’s over. But Jack never thought his mom would take off during the night and leave him at a campground in Maine with no way to reach her and barely enough money for food. Can Jack find his way back to Boston before the authorities realize what has happened?

Join us for a fun evening of book-related discussion and activities. The library will be closed except for the book discussion participants and their families. Register at the information desk and pick up a copy of the book.

The Strange Case of Origami Yoda by Tom Angleberger

It takes the wisdom of Yoda to survive the sixth grade, but are the predictions true if delivered by a sixth-grader’s origami Yoda finger puppet?  This book is Tommy’s case file of the investigation into classmate Dwight’s mysterious ability to give useful advice.   We’ll gather to discuss the first book in this fun series, and get creative with the accompanying guide: ART2-D2’s Guide to Folding and Doodling.
