Birds of prey, or raptors (from the Latin for "to seize"), are hunting birds with hooked beaks and powerful grabbing feet armed with sharp talons. These birds—among them eagles, hawks, falcons and owls—also boast the best eyesight and the sharpest hearing in the animal kingdom. This presentation, with five live birds, by Wingmasters, will explain raptor predation, their place at the top of the food web, their different hunting adaptations and their status in a rapidly changing world. Come see featured species of endangered raptors and learn about why they face an uncertain future.

This event will be held at the Milford Town Hall banquet room. Please use the entrance on Middle Street and take the elevator to the 3rd floor.

Are you looking for other yarn addicts? Do your Monday nights seem dull? Look no further! Join us for a drop-in stitch-fest on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month between 6:30-8:30pm. Don't have a project in mind? Can't seem to finish that scarf for Grandma? Or are you a complete beginner with an itch to stitch? Bring your project in & be inspired; if you're a beginner, your local craft store can help you select a project & requisite supplies. There will be no formal instruction but 'knitwits' are a helpful bunch and love indoctrinating the uninitiated into the cult of knitting. Tea, helpful company & oodles of knitting books will be served.

We all think we know the story of Benedict Arnold, the American Revolutionary War general who fought for the Continental Army but then defected to the British. Recalled mainly as a traitor for his 1780 defection, Arnold had risked his life and fortune for American freedom in courageous exploits between 1775 and 1778, when the dream of independence was at its most fragile.

This program will be presented at the Milford Town Hall Banquet Room. Please enter the Middle Street entrance next to the old ambulance bays and take the elevator to the 3rd floor.

This program is funded by a grant from the New Hanmpshire Humanities Council.

Free Tax help will be available at the Wadleigh Library from February 2nd to April 13th. The hours will be the same each week:

Tuesdays - 9:30am to 2:00pm
Thursdays - 3:30pm to 6:30pm

Appointments are not required.

The Wadleigh Library is an official Tax Form Repository. We will provide forms as we receive them from the federal and state government. Forms can also be printed at the IRS website at www.irs.gov.

Since 1968, AARP Tax-Aide volunteers have helped nearly 50 million low- to middle-income taxpayers, many of whom are aged 60 or older. Tax-Aide volunteers (IRS Certified) are trained to assist with filing the 1040 Form and the more standard of the schedules, including Schedules A and B. Electronic filing (e-filing) is offered at the Wadleigh Memorial Library site, with no charge to the taxpayer. E-filing ensures more accurate tax returns and faster processing of tax refunds.

The Wadleigh Library is an official Tax Form Repository. We will provide forms as we receive them from the federal and state government. Tax forms can also be printed from the IRS website at www.irs.gov.
