JUMP-STARTING YOUR JOB SEARCH -- six week job support program with Gretchen and Richard Daggett
A unique, action-oriented job search support program
that offers practical advice plus care for mind, body and spirit
This 6-week program offers practical advice plus care for your mind, body and spirit. Targeted at those who have been impacted by job loss during the economic downturn, the program will help you regroup after job loss and begin or jump-start a well-organized job search. It is important to renew/enhance your job search skills and stay in action. Plus dealing with job loss and unemployment creates understandable anxiety and depression. It impacts your relationships and your life. It can deplete your spirit, making it hard to keep motivated. Each session combines job-search skill building small group sharing and support, and action steps for your professional and personal life. The program is designed to give you the structure, support and accountability you need.
Gretchen and Richard Daggett, bring a wealth of experience from profit and nonprofit settings in areas of job search/career/life coaching, training & development, pastoral ministry, management, mind/body work, human resources, executive coaching, organizational consulting, and relationship work. Both Gretchen and Richard , who each has been laid off twice, have led hundreds of people through the job search process, as well as career and life planning, couples communication training, and relationship coaching. And they share their knowledge with wisdom, compassion and humor.
This is a six week program. Please go to January 21 on the event calendar to register.

Gail Rundlett in Concert with Julian Rundlett
|
|
| |
|
Gail Rundlett is one of the real treasures of Boston's thriving folk community. Blessed with a voice that exhibits crystalline purity, honesty and heart-touching soul, she is an endearing and entertaining performer. Gail plays guitar and four-string Appalachian dulcimer and draws her repertoire from both traditional and contemporary sources.
Gail has performed as a solo artist since the early 1980s in New England's coffeehouses, clubs, festivals, museums and schools, as well as singing for children and teaching dulcimer workshops. Whether she's enlivening traditional music with her expressive dulcimer and honeyed vocals, or freshly rendering contemporary songs and playing guitar, Gail's warm presence fills the stage and erases boundaries between singer and audience. She has released three solo recordings -- Just in Time, Farther Along, and Full Circle, featuring Tim and Mollie O'Brien and Brooks Williams on backup -- and appeared on two CDs as a member of the vocal group Taproot. Christine Lavin introduced Gail to a national audience by including her version of the Anne Dodson song, "Lie Easy", on the compilation recording When October Goes. Gail has shared the stage with Tom Rush, Nanci Griffith, Garnet Rogers, Richard Shindell, David Massengill and Odetta, among others. .

Award-Winning Documentary Series
Unnatural Causes...is inequality making us sick?
"In Sickness and in Wealth: How does
the distribution of power, wealth and
resources shape opportunities for health?"
This series investigates findings that are shaking up our
conventional understanding of health. There's much more to
our well-being than genes, behaviors and medical care. The social, economic and physical environments in which we are born, live and work profoundly affect our health. Broadcast by PBS, this series tackles the root causes of our alarming socio-economic and racial inequalities in health.
Each screening will be facilitated by a member of the Regional Center for Healthy Communities (Metrowest) and include audience participation group discussion. Healthy snacks will be provided.
CHILDCARE will be available on a first come, first served basis for children aged 5 and up; if you need childcare, please call Francisca at 617-208-1562 to confirm space for your children.
Sponsored by Listen and Learn, a Mount Auburn Hospital collaboration with Healthy Waltham, WATCH, Joseph M. Smith Community Health Center, Power Program and Waltham Family School. Funding from the BCBS Foundation of MA.
