    Contact: Brandon   412-882-6622   taperb2@einetwork.net

Many doctors struggle to talk openly with their patients nearing the end of life. Renowned surgeon, Dr. Atul Gawande, explored this topic in his bestselling book Being Mortal.

Join us to view a 50-minute PBS Frontline video featuring Dr. Gawande’s personal journey –and the stories of his patients and their families. The film explores the ways in which having a conversation around the question, “What are your priorities if your time is limited?”, can empower patients to live their lives more fully. Being Mortal shines an unprecedented spotlight on how patients, families, and doctors all experience the stages of life, for the ultimate goal is not a good death, but a good life –all the way to the very end.

Following the video there will be a discussion and question period with Dr. Keith Lagnese and Laura Kinney of Family Hospice and Palliative Care.

Refreshments will be provided by John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc.
