    Contact: Brandon   412-882-6622   taperb2@einetwork.net

Join us for a very mayoral entry in our popular “Just Ask” series during which local professionals answer all kinds of questions from the audience. There is no lecture, no PowerPoint, and no planned presentation. Just a special guest ready to answer anything you’d like to ask!

In the spirit of this playful openness, the library wants you to join us for an informal talk with a real mensch of a man, Mayor James Nowalk!

What is your average day like? Do you ever want to play hookie? What are your top priorities for the borough? Do you secretly hate The West Wing? What is your biggest challenge? Do you admire the Mayor of Munchkin City? How do you relieve stress? Whose your favorite Twilight character? How can I help my borough?

He’ll answer all of your questions –and more!-- while we “table” our appetite with snacks worth crossing the aisle for!

Get ready to ask “Mayor, may I?” for an experience of politics and pastries!

    Contact: Brandon   412-882-6622   taperb2@einetwork.net

Our most important friendship is the one we foster with ourselves. Like all relationships, this one requires love and care to flourish. Though it’s often difficult to find time in the day to dedicate to yourself, accessing the keys to a better sense of self and understanding is well worth the initial effort.

Consider this program the first step to a better sense of who you are and who you can be, like a “down payment” on a new you!

Join Chris Mabon, author of 101 Ways to Nurture Yourself, to discuss some of the ways we can cultivate ourselves and become our own best friend.

We’ll have snacks and teas and chocolates to help you warm up to the new you!

Bio: Following the sudden death of her husband, Chris Mabon was embraced and comforted by a large number of friends, neighbors and members of the community who showed their love and support by bringing food, words of comfort and helpful hands. She believes these relationships enabled her to heal and move forward, forming new relationships and deepening already existing ones.

Chris publishes a monthly e-newsletter all about friendship, has written and published the book 101 Ways to Nurture Yourself and is currently working on a manuscript, Comfort Food – One Woman’s Journey to Understand the Meaning and Significance of Friendship.

When she is not volunteering, writing or speaking, Chris enjoys walking, yoga, visiting her sons and of course, time with her friends.
