COOL WINCHESTER presents:
Dr. John Ehrenfeld
Sustainability by Design
The World Climate Conference in Copenhagen, Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth - with a growing awareness of the environmental threats to the natural and social worlds,
the issue of sustainability has become ever more imperative.
On March 9th join Dr. Ehrenfeld, local author, global thinker, and former Director of the MIT Program on Technology, Business and Environment as he presents a new definition of Sustainability as the possibility that humans and other life will flourish on the Earth forever. Dr. Ehrenfeld shifts the focus of sustainability to this new definition and away from the problem-oriented,
remedial frame of sustainable development.
Dr. Ehrenfeld will share ideas from his book Sustainability by Design: A Subversive Strategy for Transforming our Consumer Culture and outline practical steps toward attaining the new mindset essential to creating sustainability.
Join this leading thinker on
March 9th
from 7:00-8:30pm
at the Large Meeting Room,

The Monotype Guild of New England Board of Directors meets every 2 months to discuss board business. The board comprises around 15 members.
We are a group 260 members working in the monoprint medium and showing our artwork in venues throughout Massachusetts.
We are a nomadic group, not having a home of our own we take it in turns to host a meeting.
I am a Winchester resident and the secretary of the MGNE.
I would really appreciate this group being allowed to meet at Winchester Library.

The goal of this dialogue series with community leaders and residents is an increased awareness of the historic relationship between race, place, and current economic prosperity. This shared experience of viewing and discussing "Race: The Power of an Illusion" provides a stimulating and challenging opportunity as we work to shape our community's future. Event is FREE and is open to the public. For information or to sign up send an e-mail to office@wmcn.org.
