Windsor Locks's own Leslie Matthews Stansfield, author of Mr. Tea and the Traveling Teacup (2012) has just published her second Madeline's Teashop mystery, Mr. Tea and the Bobbin' Body!  Leslie will visit the library with tea expert Ann Velasco to present an evening of tea and mystery.  Leslie's series features sisters Karen and Terry Sutter, who move back to their hometown in Maine after the death of their mother to open Madeline's Teahouse in their childood home.  Leslie will read from her new novel and Ann will offer some background on the history of tea and customs surrounding it.  Tea and other refreshments will be served.  Copies of Leslie's books will be available for sale and signing at the program.  Please call 860-627-1495 to register.

The Christie Capers mystery book club meets to discuss the second novel in a series of mysteries focused on clergy as sleuths.  This month's selection is The Haunted Abbot by Peter Tremayne. This series features Sister Fidelma, a nun in seventh century Ireland. Copies of the books will be available at the circ desk one month before the meeting. CHRISTMAS PARTY POTLUCK DINNER AND GRAB BAG.  The Christie Capers mystery book club meets to discuss a Father Dowling mystery. the third novel in a series of mysteries focused on clergy as sleuths.  This month's selection is Grave Undertakings by Ralph McInerny. Copies of the books will be available at the circ desk one month before the meeting. New members are always welcome!  

In December the group traditionally meets for a longer time to enjoy a potluck dinner, finger foods, desserts, and drinks.  Everyine is invited to bring a wrapped new or used mystery to share in a grab bag.  All those who wish to participate will go home with a mystery to read and enjoy!  Please contact Eileen epearce54@gmail.com or Janet janet.lomba@snet.net to sign up for your dish.

Windsor Locks Public Library's Adult Winter Reading Program, along with the Christie Capers mystery book club, welcomes local author Susannah Hardy, whose new book Feta Attraction will be published January 6.  Feta Attrection is the first in a new restaurant-based mystery series that is, according to Barnes & Noble, "overflowing with Greek flavor." , Susannah Hardy is the pen name of Jane Haertel, who grew up in northern New York. She attended St. Lawrence University and has served on the board of directors of the Connecticut Romance Writers of America. She is a member of Sisters in Crime. Jane writes weekly about anything that strikes her fancy at the Writing Secrets of Seven Scribes blog. Jane lives in Connecticut with her husband, teenaged son, and Elvira the Wonder Cat.

Author Jessica Barone Handly was raised on tales of the old country and eventually traveled to several European countries to fuel her already fertile imagination.  Her latest novel, Wolfwalker, is the story of Fein, half-human, half wolfwalker.  Jessica's novels are filled with fantistical paranormal characters, including shapeshifters, vampires, strigoi, and magical creatures living in the past and the present.  Fans of fantasy, horror, and paranormal fiction will enjoy her presentation.  Jessica is the second author visiting as part of our 2015 adult winter reading program, Get Cozy with a Good Book.  Please call 860-627-1495 to register.

A native New Englander, Katy loves to knit warm wooly things. She enjoys traveling the side-roads and exploring the locals’ hideaways.  A homeschooling mom of three competitive swimmers, Katy often writes from the stands while cheering them on.  She has four published novels with four more to be released in the coming year with her present publisher, Harlequin Love Inspired Suspense.
