    Community Resources for People with Autism provides support, information, and practical help for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders and their families living in Western Massachusetts. This interactive discussion roundtable is an opportunity to learn about the training, education, advocacy, and family support that this organization provides. In addition, participants will view “Libraries and Autism: We’re Connected”, a customer service training video for library staff. The video focuses on what library staff need to know about autism and includes specific techniques on how to offer more inclusive service to this growing and underserved population.     The Friends of the Western Massachusetts Regional Library System have arranged for a bus to Boston for Library Legislative Day. Please consider taking the bus and using this opportunity to advocate with your legislators, specially this year, to fund libraries, networks and regions. The pick-up spots are:
6:45 am WMRLS Headquarters, Whately - Directions
7:30 a.m. Table & Vine Liquors, West Springfield- Directions
8:15 a.m. Palmer Public Library- Directions
9:15 a.m. CMRLS Headquarters, Shrewsbury- Directions

The bus will leave Boston at 2:30 pm and will arrive in Whately by 5:45 pm. The cost per person is $20 for Friends of WMRLS/CMRLS members and $25 for nonmembers. Register for the Friends of WMRLS & CMRLS Bus by completing this form

Award winning author Nancy Garden will present the Keynote Address about her book Endgame and her research on bullying.

Come hear from other teen librarians about topics like programming, award books, teen spaces, reader's advisory, and more. At the end of the day, you will leave with program ideas and solutions you can implement as soon as you get back to your library. You'll learn what works, and doesn't work, from other librarians facing the same issues you have. Join us for an information-packed day of roundtables, panel discussions and networking.     Basic Library Training in Cataloging is intended as an introduction to help library staff who have no formal education in cataloging and also as a refresher course on the basics of cataloging for librarians and school library media specialists. The two session course will cover an introduction to the following:
• Technical Services and Descriptive Cataloging
• Subject Headings
• Dewey Classification
• MARC Cataloging
Barbara Andrews, Andrews Consulting, will lead this workshop.
Requirements: To fulfill the Cataloging component of the Basic Library Techniques requirement of the State Aid to Libraries program of the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners and/or to receive 12.5 Massachusetts Department of Education Professional Development Points Certificate of Completion, participants must attend both the March 30 and the April 13 training sessions at the Western Massachusetts Regional Library System (10 hours) and complete all homework assignments (2.5 hours).
