Community Resources for People with Autism provides support, information, and practical help for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders and their families living in Western Massachusetts. This interactive discussion roundtable is an opportunity to learn about the training, education, advocacy, and family support that this organization provides. In addition, participants will view “Libraries and Autism: We’re Connected”, a customer service training video for library staff. The video focuses on what library staff need to know about autism and includes specific techniques on how to offer more inclusive service to this growing and underserved population. Jason Litto, Family Support Manager, Community Resources for People with Autism, and Janet Eckert, Youth Services Librarian, WMRLS, will lead this interactive discussion program.
