Help us raise money for mobile furniture and display cases for our new Archives by buying a relic of our past we will not be able to re-use or display.  After packing our items for storage, and giving items to the Woburn Historical Society (and after many rounds of giving back historical items to the towns they originally came from) we are left with some very unique objects--including card catalogs and one-of-a-kind furniture pieces.  EVERYTHING MUST GO!

ATTENTION FAMILIES!  Please join us for a FREE early afternoon party in the empty library to celebrate the beginning of the building project!  This family party will include a really big cake and a library architecture scavenger hunt.  At 11:30, Karen K & the Jitterbugs will Rock the Richardson with a great show for the kiddos.

More about Karen K & the Jitterbugs:

Bug Out! with Karen K and her imaginary friends, the Jitterbugs: Bumble (the bee who doesn’t like to sting); Stinky (loves playing outside, refuses baths), Hop (working on his patience and self control); and Slug Bug (needs a LOT of naps).  Voted the “Best Kids Band in Greater Boston by Mommy Poppins (41,000 votes) and called “fun for the whole family” by The Boston Globe, Karen K & the Jitterbugs have quickly become a favorite among children and their grown ups in New England and across the country.  Best known for Karen’s award-winning well-crafted and totally catchy tunes and their high-energy shows packed with both humor and poignancy, the Jitterbugs deliver one of the most entertaining live musical experiences on the East Coast. www.karenkjitterbugs.com

A believer in the power of music to affect social change, Karen is also the creator and producer of Kids Really Rock, a free all-day family music and art festival in Boston that attracts over 6,000 people annually.

"Power pop sheen that makes them fun for the whole family.” –The Boston Globe

Easily rivals the best of any Disney theme music.” – Rebecca Yorn Alison, Kids Can Groove

“Karen’s ability to connect with kids is the best I’ve ever seen.  There is nothing not to love about her and her Bugs.” –Executive Director, Chamber of Commerce, Arlington, MA

"We've worked with a lot of performers of this age group, and Karen K & the Jitterbugs are the best.  Simply fabulous." -Jewish Community Centers of Greater-Boston

misc_none Library Reopens at 36 Cummings Park Remind Me about this Event   Tell a Friend
    Contact: Rebecca Meehan   7819330148   rmeehan@minlib.net

The Library will reopen at 36 Cummings Park on Tuesday, April 18th.  We'll be there until the Fall of 2018 (exact date TBD).

We're looking forward to seeing you in our temporary location!  You can still browse our most popular collections, request and pick-up items, read the papers, and access the internet.  If you visit the Children's Room, you can still get great reading recommendations, browse the collection, sit down and read a book with your child(ren), and even visit Hardcover, our library turtle.

One thing that you'll notice is that we won't be hosting many programs in the temporary location (no large programming space).  Not to worry!  While we're all waiting for our gorgeous library project to be completed, we'll be taking Children's and Adult programs out into the community.  We'll be popping up at local spots all over Woburn (and in some neighboring towns), so keep an eye out for us.

We're available 24/7 online!  Check out our extensive collection of online resources, including one of our newest offerings:  The Commonwealth eBook Collection. From Bestselling fiction and nonfiction titles, to primary sources and historical documents, to academic works and books you just can't get anywhere else, this newest online resource is definitely worth checking out.
