misc_none 2:00 PM  -  3:00 PM Walt Whitman, Poet - Steve Collins Remind Me about this Event   Tell a Friend
Actor, Steve Collins, presents the works of Walt Whitman. Collins has been featured in the Boston Globe and teaches the public about theater through lecture and performance. Collins works professionally as a tour guide for historical tours of Boston. He has a bachelor’s degree in literature from the University of Massachusetts Boston. He loves the dramatic nature of Whitman's writings, which include a well-known collection of verses, "Leaves of Grass." At 6 feet 4 inches tall, Collins also bears a physical resemblance to the dynamic poet. The performance features samplings of Whitman's poetry and selections from a multivolume set of interviews with Whitman. Sponsored by the Friends of Brooks Free Library. Google Drive allows you to save your documents online so that you can access them from any Internet connected device or computer. You can also share and collaborate online without emailing documents back and forth. The versatility and ease of use that Google Drive provides is one of the reasons that it has become a popular platform for schools and teachers to utilize within their learning communities. During this Tech Talk, you will see an overview of how to create documents, spreadsheets, and presentations. We will also cover how to share documents and folders with other Google Drive users and how to view items that have been shared with you. This workshop is perfect for MRSD students or parents who would like to get an overview of the Google Drive platform. Likewise, the platform can be useful to committees and community organizations who often collaborate on projects and would like to utilize an online space for collaboration. Attendees are welcome to bring along their own device to log into Google Drive and follow along, but you will need a Gmail account in order to do so. Registration is required; please contact Emily Milan at 508-430-7562 ext.4 or emilan@clamsnet.org
