Rebound! The Incredible Story of UConn Basketball's Comeback from Defeat to Dominance   Come hear about the most unlikely comebacks in all of sports by David Borges, award-winning sports writer for the New Haven Register.
“--Richly reported and exquisitely written, Rebound! gives the reader the view of the road to history, from the inside out.”—Seth Davis, college basketball reporter for Sports Illustrated and CBS Sports. “Rebound! is insightful, honest, and as close as you will get to behind the scenes of UConn's magical run to the championship in 2014… A must read for the college sports junkie.”—Tim Welsh, ESPN college basketball analyst

The Rebound! began in September 2012, when legendary University of Connecticut men’s basketball coach Jim Calhoun abruptly retired. His handpicked replacement, Kevin Ollie, inherited a mess dealing with academic problems, top players leaving and difficulties on the recruiting trail. Despite it all, a talented group of players coached by Ollie fought hard won the 2014 title.  “Theirs became one of the great comeback stories in all of sports, a rags-to-riches triumph for a storied program and its new head coach.”

The author will have copies of his book available to purchase. He will also be avialalbe to sign your book.

Dr. Subramani Seetharama a physician with Hartford HealthCare Network will offer information about concussions and the services available to provide proper care of injured young people.

WHAT IS A CONCUSSION?

“A concussion is a type of traumatic brain injury. Concussions are caused by a bump or blow to the head. Even a “ding,” “getting your bell rung,” or what seems to be a mild bump or blow to the head can be serious.

You can’t see a concussion. Signs and symptoms of concussion can show up right after the injury or may not appear or be noticed until days or weeks after the injury. If your child reports any symptoms of concussion, or if you notice the symptoms yourself, seek medical attention right away.”  Please visit the Center for Disease Control website for more information http://www.cdc.gov/concussion/HeadsUp/youth.html. Registration is required. Please click the register button below or contact the Informantion Department at 860-628-0947 x 5.
